Overview:

Self-Care Nutrition Digestive Enzymes are designed to assist the body in breaking down food and absorbing nutrients more effectively, as well as support overall gut health and the digestive environment. Because over 70% of our immune system resides in the gut, our formula can create a highly beneficial environment for better immunity.

Our highly comprehensible blend contains various enzymes that mimic the natural digestive enzymes produced in the body, primarily by the stomach, pancreas, and small intestine. As well as probiotics and prebiotic fibers to help create healthy gut function and an efficient, healthy mind and body.

Designed to help alleviate symptoms such as bloating, gas, abdominal cramps, and diarrhea that occur when food isn't properly digested.

As well as aid in nutrient utilization for optimal energy and overall health.

Digestive Enzymes work to break down fats, proteins, and carbohydrates, helping your body absorb the nutrients it needs, increasing metabolism for optimal health.

Reduced Inflammation by ensuring thorough digestion of food, therefore reducing the body's inflammatory response.

Also, research suggests a potential role in the gut-brain axis in alleviating symptoms of Depression, Anxiety, as well as improving sleep quality and cognitive function.

Self-Care Nutrition Digestive Enzymes supplement contains 9 active ingredients:

  1. Bromelain is a potent enzyme, derived from the stem and fruit of the pineapple plant. It excels at breaking down proteins, especially foods like meat, dairy, and legumes, into smaller peptides and amino acids. This can significantly reduce symptoms like bloating, gas, and a feeling of heaviness or discomfort after meals. But most notable is Bromelain's wide range of anti-inflammatory benefits, by modulating the body's inflammatory response, which reduces swelling and pain, modulates cytokines, promotes wound healing, and provides immune support
  2. Papain is a proteolytic enzyme, which means it breaks down proteins. Papain is naturally derived from the papaya fruit, particularly in raw, unripened fruit and its latex (the white fluid) of the papaya plant. Its main function is protein hydrolysis, creating smaller peptides and amino acids. This enhanced digestion, along with the fiber in papaya, may contribute to regular bowel movements and can help with occasional constipation. As well as possessing potential antioxidant effects.
  3. Fungal Lipase is an enzyme naturally produced in the body that breaks down fats (lipids), specifically triglycerides, into smaller molecules like fatty acids and glycerol. Therefore, improving fat digestion and absorption may indirectly support weight management by optimizing nutrient utilization. As well as cardiovascular health and reduced inflammation. Especially beneficial to those with pancreatic insufficiency, gallbladder issues, and those on high-fat diets.
  4. Fungal Lactase is an enzyme derived from fungi. Crucial in breaking down lactose found in dairy products into sugars, glucose, and galactose for energy. As well as other nutrients like calcium and vitamin D. Especially beneficial for those with lactose intolerance or IBS.
  5. Alpha-galactosidase is an enzyme that breaks down complex carbohydrates, which are non-absorbable fiber found in many healthy foods. Such as beans, lentils, or cruciferous vegetables. Particularly helpful to those following vegetarian or vegan diets. Supplementing is important because our bodies do not produce enough alpha-galactosidase to fully break down these complex carbohydrates into digestible sugars. Leading to bloating, gas, abdominal pain or discomfort, and abdominal distension. Though individuals with diabetes should consult a doctor before taking alpha-galactosidase due to its effect on blood sugar.
  6. Fungal Protease from Aspergillus oryzae is a powerful protein-digestion aid that breaks down proteins into smaller peptides and individual amino acids to aid digestion and nutrient utilization. Also, potential prebiotic effects that may increase the abundance of beneficial bacteria in the gut. As well as assisting in gluten digestion, this can be helpful for individuals with gluten sensitivity.
  7. Lactobacillus Acidophilus By producing lactic acid, this probiotic lowers the pH of the gut, creating an environment less desirable for pathogenic (disease-causing) bacteria to thrive. Also aiding in the digestion of lactose, which is particularly beneficial for individuals with lactose intolerance. All while supporting the gut barrier, this can strengthen the lining of the gut and enhance nutrient absorption.
  8. Lactobacillus casei is a probiotic that can significantly enhance the digestive process and the efficacy of your body's enzymes, and in some cases, even produce specific enzymes. As well as reducing the burden on enzymes by aiding in the initial fermentation of certain carbohydrates and supporting a healthier overall digestive process. One of its most strongly supported uses is alleviating Antibiotic-Associated Diarrhea (ADD) by restoring balance to gut flora. As well as help alleviate symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), such as Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis, as an adjunctive therapy and not a primary treatment.
  9. Lactobacillus plantarum is a well-researched and highly beneficial probiotic. It is commonly found in fermented foods and even in anaerobic plant matter. It is known to improve bowel regularity, support gut barrier integrity, inhibit pathogenic bacteria, possibly helping prevent infections, and assist allergy management
